Symposium Dates Have Been Changed!

April 6-8, 2017

DisArt strives to be a community centered organization, one that works with a variety of local and national institutions in order to produce the most successful programming possible. As such, it was becoming apparent that too many of our community partners were unable to adequately participate in DisArt Symposium at its original timing. Moving our dates accommodates some of these difficulties, and we are certain that the new schedule will lead to a more successful symposium for everybody involved. DisArt offers apologies for any inconveniences this change might make.

Disability Arts have emerged as one of the most dynamic and culturally significant contemporary art practices of the last 20 years, gaining international momentum through exhibitions, performances and festivals. DisArt Symposium: Disability Arts Now! will gather together academics, critics, artists, designers, and arts organization professionals to consider the current state of Disability Arts and its future, exploring together the multitude of dialogues embedded in the dynamic fusion of human disability and contemporary art.

Join us if you are an artist who wants a thoughtful audience, a critic who wants to explore a new idea, an arts organizer who wants to shape culture, a director or producer who wants to tap into at the world of disability art… This is your symposium.
